Spring in the garden has been a whirlwind of growth and change. In the past month, fields of cover crop, some speckled with red clover flowers, have been transformed into beds of greens, cabbages, potatoes, onions and flowers. In the above photos you can see the young onions in the greenhouse and the first young grape leaves of early April. The remainder of the photos attempt to capture the constantly evolving garden of early-May, from the herb garden to the kiwi arbor. Every week the young peach fruit, leafy greens and potato plants grow bigger and new asparagus spears burst forth.

The tomato plants are just about ready to leap into the soil, and before long the sweet, juicy months of summer will begin.
