|Growing Healthy Schools Week|
Start making plans now to get involved with Growing Healthy Schools Week October 15-20th. You can participate by planning a field trip to the Washington Youth Garden!
Growing Healthy Schools Week celebrates school gardens and farm to school programs throughout the District of Columbia. During the week, school staff will work with local non-profits, farms and chefs to coordinate inspiring activities aimed at engaging the broader community, increasing environmental literacy, building program capacity, and connecting students to their food.
The Washington Youth Garden is currently seeking applicants for two seasonal positions:
The Garden Educator (April to Oct.) will be responsible for coordinating spring and fall field trips as well as overseeing summer high school interns. Full details here.
The Garden Assistant (May to Oct.) will support general operations, garden maintenance, volunteer supervision and field trips. Full details here.
Bring your class out to the Washington Youth Garden this season for an educational field trip. SPROUT (Science Program Reaching OUT) trips are specifically designed to give your students a hands-on outdoor experience they'll remember.
We are currently accepting reservations for trips beginning April 9, 2014.
