|Growing Healthy Schools Week|
Start making plans now to get involved with Growing Healthy Schools Week October 15-20th. You can participate by planning a field trip to the Washington Youth Garden!
Growing Healthy Schools Week celebrates school gardens and farm to school programs throughout the District of Columbia. During the week, school staff will work with local non-profits, farms and chefs to coordinate inspiring activities aimed at engaging the broader community, increasing environmental literacy, building program capacity, and connecting students to their food.
The Washington Youth Garden is currently seeking highly qualified applicants with non-profit management and fundraising experience for the Washington Youth Garden Director position.
For a full description of responsibilities, qualifications and application process, please see our post on Idealist.
Bring your class out to the Washington Youth Garden next spring for an educational field trip. SPROUT (Science Program Reaching OUT) trips are specifically designed to give your students a hands-on outdoor experience they'll remember.
We are currently accepting reservations for trips beginning April 2013.
