Letters from a First Grader

April Martin

As a part of DC’s Healthy Schools Week, Farmer Nadia visited first graders at the Inspired Teaching Demonstration school. Her goal was to bring a bit of The Washington Youth Garden into the classroom so she came equipped with overalls, garden tools, seeds, sorrel, mint, rosemary, cotton bolls, and a whole pepper plant, roots and all!  A few weeks later the mailman brought a wonderful surprise, thank you letters from the first graders! They are so thoughtful and curious that we just had to share them with you. Could you help us translate a few?
