SPROUT Scholarship

We appreciate your interest in visiting Washington Youth Garden. The primary intent of the SPROUT Scholarship Program is to minimize the financial barrier for schools and community organizations with limited to no resources for experiential learning opportunities.

SPROUT field trips typically cost $200 per trip, however awardees will receive a full program fee scholarship.  WYG will grant a total of ten (10) trips with the following availability: two (2) trips in the spring and (8) trips during the summer – fall.

Washington Youth Garden does not fund transportation.

Guidelines and Other Important Information

·       You must apply each calendar year that you would like to receive scholarship funding.

·       ALL participating teachers are required to complete and submit an evaluation survey to Washington Youth Garden following their field trip. Schools failing to comply with this requirement may not receive scholarship funds for the next school year.

·       Should you be awarded a trip free of cost to WYG, you must schedule your trip for the season and year stated in your award letter.  Failure to schedule your trip by the following 2018 deadlines will result in a forfeit of the award, and may impact your eligibility for funding in the future.

SPRING (April 3 – June 8) – Schedule by March 23
SUMMER (June 20 – August 10) – Schedule by June 1
FALL ( August 29 – November 16) – Schedule by August 17

Washington Youth Garden will grant a total of ten (10) trips with the following availability: two (2) trips in the spring and (8) trips during the summer and fall.

·       Please inform Washington Youth Garden at least two weeks before your scheduled trip if you need to reschedule or cancel for any reason.  Failure to notify the office in a timely manner may affect your eligibility to receive an award in the future.
